As the hurricane season begins keeping your tiki in hurricane ready condition is important.
Our crews harvest about 10,000 palm fronds a week. We use the Sabal Palm that is also the Florida State tree. We have to search ranch land and gain permissions to cut large amounts, often having to pay in upwards of .30 cents a frond. This is the hardest part of our job. It is not fun to be in 95 degree heat walking through swamp land and talking loudly to hopefully fend off snakes and gators. I have learned over the years to take my machete and swipe it across the ground in front of the palm to chase off any unwanted guests.
